CJ Dental Studio – a dream come true

CJ Dental Studio

Owners Agata Casey and Karolina Jaloveckaite share their journey of opening CJ Dental Studio.

Agata and Karolina met when they were both working in a private practice in Chelsea, London.

Agata was a qualified orthodontic therapist and Karolina was her dental nurse. They soon became best friends and realised they shared the same dream – to one day own their own dental practice.

Following this desire, Karolina secured time to study towards her orthodontic therapist qualifications at the University of Central Lancashire and Agata was studying towards her dental hygiene qualification in Poland, dedicating her time between the two countries.

Hard work paid off and Karolina and Agata successfully finished their studies and decided the time was right to start to look for the perfect premises and to work towards their future as dental practice owners.

Strength, confidence and empowerment

After a few months of searching for the perfect location, an opportunity arose to rent premises on Ongar Road in Brentwood, Essex.

The location was excellent as the high street was just around the corner and there were numerous health and beauty services nearby, making it the perfect destination for patients seeking high-end, accessible, and local dental care.

When the idea of building a private dental practice arose, the owners decided to create a memorable brand that represented strength, confidence and empowerment.

The vision was to create a luxurious and welcoming dental studio, where patients could experience first-class dental treatment.

CJ Dental Studios logo

The dental studio needed a name, and the owners agreed to use the first letters of both of their surnames – ‘CJ’.

‘Initially, we wanted to incorporate an equivocal symbol related to dentistry and beauty such as a crown, but we decided against it, as our vision was to be unique and stand out from our local competitors,’ Karolina and Agata say.

‘We came across the peacock bird when designing our logo, which we believed would fit perfectly with what we had in mind.’

The peacock is often thought to be symbolic of re-growth and rejuvenation, royalty, respect, honour, and integrity. They are also a symbol of beauty, love, and passion.

As these are the values endorsed by CJ Dental Studio, it was decided to incorporate the bird into the practice’s logo (the letters C and J can be found in the peacock’s tail and body).

Overcoming obstacles

The property needed a complete makeover, as it had previously been used as a soft play area. There were no partition walls, no flooring, the ceiling was unsafe, and the premises were not accessible for disabled patients. New plumbing and electrical work were also needed. During the renovations, the owners discovered they needed a new roof, guttering and damp proofing.

Work began in October 2020 and following a successful CQC inspection in June 2021, CJ Dental Studio opened its doors to the patients in July 2021.

‘There were times when we had our doubts, but with hard work and determination together, we overcame the obstacles and have achieved our dream,’ Karolina and Agata say.

The result

Fear of the dentist is common in patients of all ages, so CJ Dental Studio has been designed with nervous patients in mind.

Karolina and Agata wanted to create a friendly, comfortable and welcoming environment, which they’ve achieved by not only using neutral tones when decorating, calming music and fragrances but by also incorporating distracting, eye catching vibrancy with the colourful peacock design. This works perfectly to divert patients’ attention, therefore calming them prior to appointments.
