More and more new IO scanners are entering the market either from existing suppliers, or via new entrants. All IO scanners are good, but they also have their unique features and benefits, and this must be aligned to the clinicians needs. David will explain ‘Catch 22’ which is his established process which helps a dentist choose the right IO scanner. David will also be explaining why he believes a subscription model is a viable and flexible way of getting onboard with disruptive technology.   Speaker biography David has worked in dentistry for 38 years, as a dental technician; lab owner; IOS product specialist; and IOS business manager covering the UK, Nordics, Baltics, Middle East and South Africa. He has trained over 1,400 dentists and teams to IO scan. He is currently the Digital Business Director for a group of UK Dental labs. His role includes training and offering customers all major IO scanners. David won the Yahoo National Sports Technology award in 2019 for Innovation (digital mouth guards). David owns the title and topic of ‘Scanomics’- which presents the return on investment from any IOS.

Guided/navigated Implant surgery is nothing new in Implant dentistry but the digital revolution in dentistry that has occurred particularly over the last 10 years has taken guided implant surgery to a new level, making it easier for the Dentist to provide and ultimately a safer more predictable treatment for the patient. But with all new disciplines it is important to learn the principles of how to provide this treatment and to take baby steps initially before diving in at the deep end. In this presentation I hope to provide you some of those basic stepping stones for this evolving area of implant dentistry.   Speaker biography Qualified University of Wales college of medicine 2001 Vocational Training Cardiff-2001-2002 Worked in Aherne Dental clinic ( A Practice limited to aesthetic and implant dentistry) -2002- to present European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry- Affiliate Digital Dentistry Society- Full member Irish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry- (past chairman) member.

An opportunity to experience safe, practical and time saving endodontic mechanical preparation techniques using the Coltene Hyflex EDM file series alongside the NEW Jeni motor. The presentation will help general dental practitioners develop the necessary confidence in moving away from hand filing.   Speaker biography Dr Dhiraj Arora BDS MJDF RCS (Eng) MSc (Endo) PG Cert CE GDC Number 114701 The important stuff: What’s most important to me (and 100% my reason for doing what I do) is successfully and carefully treating patients and also passing on skills to other dental practitioners. I believe that 80% of all dental treatment can be carried out by all GDPs. Dentists who choose to focus in one area make up the remaining 20% – it’s a question of balance and teamwork. I love a challenge and believe we all learn from our mistakes – it’s what makes us better each day. I am keen to build a community and share experiences – helping each other all the time. Teaching: My love of teaching led me to gain a Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Education from Oxford Brookes University in 2017. I mentor newly qualified dentists and am involved at the London Deanery as a Dental Foundation Trainee trainer. I also design and deliver other postgraduate endodontic teaching sessions. My earlier background: I graduated from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Dental Institute, completing my Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2007. In 2009, I gained The Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at The Royal College of Surgeons of England. To continue to satisfy my passion for endodontics, I completed my Master’s in Endodontic Practice at Barts and The Royal London. Other key things to know about me: I am a member of the British Endodontic Society My primary research interest is in the use of CBCT and digital imaging in endodontics My research “Accuracy of 3D Endo CBCT software for Preoperative Working Length Determination, an in vitro study” is due to be presented at the next British Endodontic Society Scientific Meeting I love to travel, enjoy good food and spend quality time with my wife, Simrith, and our young children:, Arissa and Dylan.
