Adrian, what do you value from your software partner, Dentally?
‘We started using Dentally at the very outset, following some fairly detailed market research by our most enthusiastic and IT-literate partner.
‘As the partners in the practice are all part-time and work at other sites, it was hugely beneficial to be able to login to the cloud and be able to see our diaries, check any radiographs or referral documentation from new patients who had been sent into the practice and just keep on top of our admin more effectively.
‘The whole cloud-based idea really came into its own in the middle of the pandemic as we were able to conduct virtual consultations and speak to patients using Microsoft Teams and immediately make records ahead of seeing the patient, in the flesh, when Covid-19 came to an end.
‘Dentally very obligingly sent trainers down to help us install the software and get things up and running. Starting with a blank canvas, most of us had a few ideas of how the system should work. Dentally is highly adaptable.
‘One of the best things about the system is the virtually immediate online support within Dentally software. We can be halfway through clinic and have a query answered within a few moments. It is just like having an IT expert in the room next door.
‘Dentally are very keen to take on ideas from the end users. A number of our suggestions have been implemented into what is already quite a highly adaptable dental patient management system.
‘There is a huge library of documentation available to users and online links which the support team give direction on when a user asks for help. This is invaluable when we recruit associates and need to train them to be fully conversant with the system.’
How does your team find Dentally to use?
‘Patient throughput always seems to be fairly slick. The use of the online portal is great for patients being able to submit their medical history forms beforehand and to have some input into their appointments. They can also pay for treatment online using the portal and check how long the next appointment will be.
The system seems highly adaptable. We have been involved with beta testing on a number of initiatives which gives a sense of ownership.’
Would you recommend Dentally to other practices?
‘I would have no hesitation in recommending the use of Dentally to other practices. The user interface is extremely easy to interpret. It is also possible to slim down the number of screens and images which will appear.
‘There has been a recent addition of the clinical history which enables straightforward sifting through of previous treatment. Being able to readily access this component data is extremely important in the field of implant dentistry. I’m also aware that there are a number of advantages in the other disciplines working within our practice.’
