Oral care in people with diabetes: What? Why? When? Where?

Join Iain Chapple on Wednesday 12 April at 7pm as he discusses oral care in people with diabetes. 

This webinar will outline the global burden of non-communicable disease and where periodontal disease and diabetes sit within that paradigm.

Attendees will be able to demonstrate the intimate and circular relationship between periodontitis and type 2 diabetes.

In addition, they will understand the need to take responsibility for early case detection of diabetes in oral care settings and how to practically implement.

Iain Chapple

Iain Chapple is professor of periodontology, director of research for the Institute of Clinical Sciences, and former head of the school of dentistry (2016-2020) at the University of Birmingham.

He has also written 13 textbooks and 35 book chapters.

In addition, Iain was awarded the Charles Tomes medal of the Royal College of Surgeons (2011) and the IADR Distinguished Scientist in periodontal research in 2018.

He is a practising clinician with 35 years of experience.
