Dentistry Scotland Show – your chance to hear Lauren Long
Dentistry.co.uk’s very own Take a Moment columnist, Lauren Long, will discuss peri implant disease at the Dentistry Scotland Show this year.
Back by popular demand, the show has a proud history of bringing together leading clinicians, specialist manufacturers and exciting networking opportunities for dentists and dental professionals from across Scotland.
And, in that respect, this year is no different. However, it will include more lectures and more team members to ensure there’s something for everyone.
‘The Dentistry Scotland Show has been going for a few years now,’ said Leanna Ellis, events director at FMC.
‘And from this we’ve really started to get a feel for what delegates want to see and hear.
‘This year, we’re really responding to this and bringing dentists and their teams what they want from a dental exhibition.
‘Make sure you register for free and come along on the 11 June to Edinburgh. We can’t wait to see you all there.’

Lauren Long – Identifying and managing peri implant disease
Lauren is a dental therapist at Cherrybank Dental Spa. She graduated from the University of Dundee in 2008 with a degree in oral health sciences.
She is a regular contributor for Dentistry.co.uk and until recently wrote a regular column on mental health within dentistry called Take a Moment.
‘With large numbers of patients choosing dental implants to replace missing teeth, it is now commonplace to see them in our day to day practice,’ Lauren says.
‘But how can we identify and differentiate between different types of periimplant disease? And what protocols can we implement in practice to help our patients maintain them?
‘This presentation will educate delegates on how to successfully screen for peri implant diseases, as well as introducing pathways they can follow when disease is present.’
What’s on at the Dentistry Scotland Show?
As with previous years, the show will include two lecture theatres with leading speakers. For example:
