The 2019 Dentistry Confidence Monitor survey results will be released this morning at the London Dentistry Show.
The NHS/Business Theatre will host a panel discussion at 10:00 today to launch and discuss the results.
Nigel Jones will be directing a panel made up of Eric Rooney, Farzeela Rupani and Tina Tanner.
‘The 2019 Dentistry Confidence Monitor results paint a saddening, if not surprising picture of life in dentistry,’ Nigel Jones, sales and marketing director at Practice Plan, said.
‘A loss of confidence in the NHS and the GDC is taking its toll and the mental health of the profession is suffering as a result.
‘The statistics in the results are one thing, but the comments from the respondents detailing how they feel are heartbreaking.
‘The overall message from the survey is that change needs to happen and soon.’
Dentistry Confidence Monitor
This year the Dentistry Confidence Monitor survey has switched focus to keep up with the continually changing world of dentistry.
Key areas this year’s survey asked the profession about included:
- NHS contract reform
- The GDC
- Mental health
- The future of dentistry, specifically practice ownership
- Happiness within dentistry.
‘Previous results have been the hot topic of discussion throughout dentistry,’ Seb Evans, editor of Dentistry.co.uk, said.
‘The Dentistry Confidence Monitor survey provides a great opportunity to see what the thoughts of the profession currently are.
‘Now in its fifth year, we can see how increased regulation and rising litigation is effecting the workforce.
‘We’re eager to find out what the 2019 results show, and how they will influence decisions made about dentistry.’
