90 seconds with…Bronagh Keane

We caught up with cosmetic dentist Bronagh Keane to find out how she got into dentistry, what she does in her spare time and her dreams for the future.

Please introduce yourself

My name is Bronagh and I’m a cosmetic dentist based in Dublin.

I graduated from Trinity College, Dublin, and I am in the middle of a postgraduate degree in facial aesthetics with the City of London Dental School.

Why did you choose to get into dentistry?

I didn’t originally know what I was going to do, so I started in maths and economics.

After a year of that, I realised that I wanted to be in something more creative, hands-on, and dealing with people on a daily basis.

So, I picked dentistry.

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I love to travel. I always have itchy feet.

I love exploring new cultures and food.

After work, I go to the gym, meet up with friends and yoga. Also I do love watching a good series.

What’s been your strangest experience in dentistry?

I haven’t had a lot! But I definitely think it was when a mum asked if she could have three of her children for the price of two for a check-up.

How do you think dentistry will change in the future?

I think, like many people, it is going to become more digital.

But what I would love is for people to, first of all, take a more holistic approach in their overall approach and dental care.

What are your dreams for the future?

My dreams for the future would be to open my own practice.

In addition, I’d love to be able to help as many people as possible, whether that’s in the clinic or social media through education.
