Align Technology explains the clear aligner innovations on show at its booth at the International Dentistry Show (IDS) 2025.
The success of a dental practice largely depends on three key pillars: outstanding clinical outcomes, increased practice efficiency, and an optimised patient experience. Align Technology, the pioneer in clear aligner technology, has been supporting more than 18.9 million patients worldwide with the Invisalign system for more than 27 years. It offers dentists a comprehensive portfolio of products and services that complement these pillars.
Delegates to the IDS 2024 in Cologne visited Align Technology’s booth to discover how its solutions, working seamlessly together in the Align Digital Platform, are helping to shape the future of dentistry.
Exceptional clinical outcomes
The advanced Invisalign system has been clinically proven to deliver predictable clinical results. With the combination of three integrated proprietary innovations, the Invisalign system is able to deliver predictable tooth movement: Invisalign SmartTrack material, SmartForce features and SmartStage technology. With the Invisalign Go portfolio designed for general dentists, simple to moderate malocclusions and pre-restorative cases can be treated effectively.
The ClinCheck treatment planning software is used by trained doctors to precisely plan and visualise projected Invisalign treatment outcome. A dedicated team of highly qualified Align staff is available to provide continuous clinical support to dental professionals, and to assist them in the treatment planning creation process. In addition, Align promotes doctor education through a wide range of training formats – digital, in-office or live – attended on average by more than 45,000 clinicians in the EMEA region each year.
Increased practice efficiency and development
For patients who are looking for the right solution to straighten their teeth, Align offers valuable suppor. The company invests on average $250 million annually in brand awareness campaigns. This opens up excellent opportunities for dental practices to position themselves in the market.
With tools such Invisalign Outcome Simulator, patients can visualise their future smile – a decisive factor in the decision-making process. Compared to conventional fixed appliances, the Invisalign System also reduces the need for practice appointments by up to 30% and cuts chair time by one third.
Now, every practice has different needs. Invisalign providers receive support that is tailored to the respective practice situation and thus promotes growth in the dental practice. The focus is on clinical excellence, practice digitisation, patient engagement and practice efficiency.
Optimised patient experience
The patient is at the centre of Align Technology’s efforts in developing Invisalign clear aligner therapy. The comfortable design of the transparent Invisalign aligners ensures that treatment interferes as little as possible with everyday life. The ability to remove them at any time and the faster treatment compared to traditional braces can make the Invisalign system a treatment of choice for adults and teenagers.
Treatment with the Invisalign system can be integrated into holistic dentistry, which combines oral health, function and aesthetics, thus providing the basis for a minimally invasive approach.
Additionally, Align Technology provides helpful tools for simplified doctor-patient communication during treatment. The My Invisalign app increases patient engagement with an individual aligner tracker, reminders and a gallery. When Invisalign Virtual Care is activated, patients can send progress videos and photos to the treating dentist for remote monitoring – reducing the number of visits to the practice. In a survey, 90% of patients said that the My Invisalign app helped them stay on track with their Invisalign treatment.
