The key to marketing a squat practice

Kunal Thakker shares his top tips for perfecting the marketing of your squat practice.

Welcome to episode three of ‘Developing a squat practice’. Today, I want to talk to you through marketing and how we market our squat practices.

To start off with, way before we even start and have found a location, we will do some test adverts. So, we will go on our social media accounts, Instagram accounts, Facebook accounts, and even our Google Ad account, and put out some adverts in those particular areas to see the response rates.

This allows us to test the market to see if there is a demand for dentistry in that particular demographic area.

Look at the area

What’s really important to marketing is the need to think about what our patient journey looks like. We want to give patients the best patient journey so they end up being our raving fans that will then go on and tell other patients.

Most of our practices are on high street locations, so we have good footfall which makes sure our brand is really present.

We also make sure that our visual aids at the front of the practice are really engaging to passersby. We don’t use standard imagery, we don’t use stuff that’s just taken off Google, we are creating our own content to go on the front of our practices, which will captivate an audience in the local area.

If you know that your local town is made up of a demographic of the 50 plus, you want your marketing to attract the 50 plus. You don’t want to be putting a composite bonding poster that’s attracting 18- to 25-year-olds.

So, it’s really important that you are just driving your marketing strategy to the local area.

Be different

What I also say is, don’t worry about what other people are doing. Try and be different. Often we get sucked into ‘this person is doing that, that person do that’.

Now it may work for one dental practice, but it may not necessarily work for all.

So, you have to be really clear about what your marketing strategy is, who your patients are, what your local demographic is, and what you’re wanting to achieve.
