Celebrating two years of Dentistry Gym

'Don't let UDA stress impact you negatively': This month Khalil Hussein discusses the rise of stress in dentistry and how to overcome it.

To celebrate two years of Dentistry Gym, Khalil Hussein looks back and provides his highlights.

This article is to celebrate Dentistry Gym being an ongoing project for two years now.

I remember uploading my first video in January of 2021, wondering what would come of it.

Since working with Dentistry, I have released 14 free-to-watch classes, as well as numerous articles about pain and injury in dentistry.

The goal was to provide dentists with easy to access knowledge and guidance for a profession that has very high levels of pain, injury and early retirement.

The classes are designed to help you get stronger, more flexible and – most importantly – to help you live a more pain free life doing the dentistry that you love!

Thanks to this project with Dentistry, I have also started teaching workshops at some dental schools around London. My next one is coming up in May 2023 at St George’s Hospital. If you would like to join that course, click here.

In the meantime, if you have not already tried or seen my Dentistry Gym content, have a look at my most popular classes and try them out today.

Dentistry Gym highlights

Dentistry is tough on the neck and shoulders. The first class of Dentistry Gym focused on exercises that help to prevent neck and shoulder pain in dentistry.

Preventing elbow and wrist pain

Two commonly irritable and painful areas for many dentists are elbows and wrists. This episode of Dentistry Gym provided exercises to help with elbow and wrist pain.

 Preventing shoulder pain

Shoulder pain is a common occurrence amongst the dental community, with issues such as frozen shoulder, rotator cuff problems, and general aches and pains affecting everyone from the dentist to the receptionist. The below video explores exercises to combat these shoulder problems.

Exercises to help prevent lower back pain

Being a dentist requires you to spend lot of time sitting, and staying in one position for a prolonged time is not good for you. This class provides exercises to help with lower back pain to ensure your time sat down is as pain-free as possible.
