Delegates will gain an understanding of the problems that can impact success when taking on a clear aligner case.

Case review will consider teeth not tracking as planned and discuss some of the potential causes. Dan and Wayne will give delegates their perspective on problem solving before, during and after treatment. The webinar will feature Dr Sunil Hirani. Speaker: Dan Shaffer

Dan is an experienced dentist and dental technician, who has a passion and flair for all things digital. His dental practice, a private digital restorative practice in Hertfordshire, is well respected in the area by patients and dental professionals alike. Over the past two decades he has been committed to training dental professionals on behalf of Dental Protection Ltd, has taught at GKT and delivered many in practice training programmes. He is an experienced broadcaster and filmmaker delivering countless lectures and training courses on Dentolegal and digital dental subjects in the UK and abroad. Dr Dan Shaffer is co-founder and clinical lead of Active Aligners UK.

Speaker: Wayne Hirschowitz

Wayne qualified in South Africa in 1988 and completed post graduate training in 1998. Wayne is a dental practice owner in Edgware, Middlesex as well as in Cranbrook, Kent and was ex clinical director of vantage health; an IT telemedicine company. Wayne has a special interest in forensic odontology and has been deployed abroad attending mass disaster incidents. His love of teaching encompasses both at his alma mater as well as mentoring troubled young people. As an experienced clinical dentist, Wayne's vision is to offer affordable, quality orthodontics through clear aligners. Aligner therapy is traditionally supplied through large corporates or controversially, direct to consumer. However, Active Aligners philosophy is 'for dentists by dentists'. Dr Wayne Hirschowitz is co-founder of Active Aligners UK.

Speaker: Sunil Hirani

Sunil graduated from Guy's Hospital, London, England in 1996. He has a Master’s degree in orthodontics, is a fellow of dental surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) and holds a membership in orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In 2005, he passed his exit fellowship, fellowship in dental surgery (orth) and in 2022, he was the first and only orthodontist in the UK to have ever passed the advanced European Society of Lingual Orthodontics board examination. He obtained the highest marks in the examination and there are about 50 people globally who have achieved this accolade. He has published articles in leading journals such as the Journal of Orthodontics, Journal of Clinical Orthodontics, European Journal of Orthodontics and Orthodontic Update. Dr Sunil Hirani works exclusively in private practice and has a strong interest in biomechanics, lingual orthodontics, digital orthodontics, skeletal anchorage, aligners and interdisciplinary care.
