TMD: tricky, multifactorial, daunting?

Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) can be challenging to diagnose and manage in everyday clinical practice.

This webinar will explore key challenges in TMD diagnosis and management, presenting practical, evidence-based frameworks to support assessment and treatment planning.

This session will also discuss approaches to supporting patient self-management between visits, including the role of emerging digital health tools.

Learning outcomes

  • Describe the ‘usual’ presentation patterns of the main groupings of TMD (myogenous versus arthrogenous) and red flags that may suggest a mimicking pathology
  • Apply the knowledge gained to make a diagnosis of myogenous, arthrogenous or combination TMD
  • Apply a broad understanding of initial reversible therapies for TMD based on a sound foundation of supported self-management.
