Is mechanical cleaning alone enough?

Join Rhiannon Jones on Tuesday 29 April at 7pm as she discusses if mechanical cleaning alone is enough.

This webinar will unwrap the evidence, understanding patient limitations and exploring adjunctive therapies around whether mechanical cleaning alone is enough.

Attendees will better understand the role of mechanical cleaning in the pursuit of stable oral health and the evidence base that exists to support this.

Rhiannon will establish patient limitations with mechanical cleaning and explore the guidelines and evidence that exists to support the consideration of adjunctive therapies, enabling clinicians to modify their current recommendations and behaviours surrounding patient at home plaque management.

The webinar will also apply the evidence base to day-to-day clinical practice and explore how to take learning from dental school and evolve behaviours to drive better patient outcomes.

Learning outcomes

  • Understand the value of well-executed home care mechanical cleaning
  • Identify the paradigm shift required to better manage gingivitis and the role that chemotherapeutics could play in better patient plaque management
  • Feel empowered to apply the understanding of the evidence and guideline frameworks that exist both at EFP and BSP level
