We hear from Dr Amo Sohal on why he finds Ryan Molis’ teaching valuable and how it has impacted his own practice.
Ryan is not the only person talking about the Invisalign system, so what would you say makes his teaching so valuable?
I’ve been to a few courses to learn Invisalign from a few different dentists, which have all been good in their own ways. Ryan also has his own way, which has been great for me.
What I’ve liked about him is that what he teaches, he is doing as well, and he’s doing it on a daily basis. So, he’s doing these cases and following them through from beginning to end.
He’s planning the ClinCheck, he’s seeing the patient from start to finish. So everything that he teaches, it’s coming straight from the horse’s mouth, so you know that if it works for him, it is going to be working for you.
He also covers a whole range topics – clinical and non-clinical – as well as the beginning to end of the whole Invisalign journey, including how to manage the journey and how to optimise that journey.
He practices in the US, so how would you say his experience is applicable to UK dentists?
In the US, in terms of the system there, it may be different than the UK. But in terms of the teaching of Invisalign, it’s the same in America as it is going to be in the UK.
At the end of the day, it’s a piece of plastic that we have to manipulate and plan in a certain way to achieve the results, and whatever he teaches in the US is completely applicable to how it is in the UK in terms of the tips and tricks or some of the new advancements, which usually come out in America first.
He works very closely with the Align faculty, so he knows the things that are usually upcoming, and they’re more tried and tested by him as well. So if you know he’s got the confidence in it, then eventually it will be rolling out in the UK, and then I’ll have the confidence in using it as well.
Ryan talks also a lot about implementing simple changes – would you say this applies to all cases, including complex ones?
From complex cases to simple cases as well. I have done about 1,000 cases now, and I’m still learning. There is always a way to get a case done quicker, more efficiently and with the same end result.
His teachings go from the foundations all the way to complex cases, and it’s very easy to find those teachings as well. With me being in the UK and him being in America, it hasn’t felt as though there is that distance. It hasn’t felt like I have lost out on anything on the course here.
Lastly, it would be great to hear what impact his training has had on your own practice.
My practice is improved its efficiency, it has improved results, and it’s getting my patients straighter teeth, but in a much smoother journey from both the clinical and non-clinical side.
It has brought my team in as well – they know what their roles are in the journey which has helped me clinically to plan cases. It works on all bases, from the marketing, the patient acquisition, the exams, from the planning, the actual fitting of the case, all the way to the retention and also aftercare.
The whole team gets involved here, so his teachings aren’t just for me. I share them video with my team, and we go through it together, and we find the tips and tricks and then we implement them.
Ryan Molis
If you are looking for ways to make 2025 your most successful yet, the founder of Molis Coaching, Dr Ryan Molis puts his 22+ years and 8,000 Invisalign cases to work for you in this must-not-miss webinar!
Ryan grew his two solo practitioner practices using the Invisalign system as a main revenue source. After being asked repeatedly on how he had become a successful Invisalign provider, he was inspired to create Molis Coaching to help other dentists use the same single, simple, easy-to-integrate Invisalign system he created.
Ryan began his dentistry career part-time at two different practices in two very different communities in the Chicago area. He became an early adopter of Invisalign treatment and immersed himself in all the learning he could. Ryan attended dozens of conferences, spent tens of thousands of dollars on marketing packages and endured endless trial and error to determine what worked – and what didn’t!
He saw first-hand the costs, challenges, and inefficiencies of decentralised Invisalign education. He also learned from it. His early start and deep commitment to providing Invisalign treatment to exponentially scale the growth of his practices over time. Eventually, he purchased both practices where he got his start, seamlessly growing the general dentistry and Invisalign offerings of both, and continually refining what worked and eliminating what didn’t.
Patterns emerged and a single, simplified system developed. Invisalign revenue quickly became over half of the revenue of both practices and became the most exciting – and lucrative – part of the daily experiences of his practices, his team, and his life. After over 20 years of unparalleled success, Ryan was repeatedly asked, and eventually inspired, to help other general dentists avoid the inefficiency of confusing and conflicting approaches, wasted time and money on ineffective marketing and completely avoidable trial and error.
Knowing first-hand the positive impact of a single, simple, easy-to-integrate Invisalign system in general dentistry practice, Ryan sought to help others do the same – and Molis Coaching was born.
