The 247 Dentist was founded in 2019 to address the challenge of arranging emergency out-of-hours dental care coverage for dental practices. As Bernice explains: ‘Very few dentists are keen on having an emergency, out-of-hours phone on a weekend.’
To solve this problem, The 247 Dentist was created to provide full-service private emergency dental cover for practices across England.
It offers a comprehensive range of services, operating 365 days a year. This includes weekday evenings, weekends and holiday coverage, as well as emergency care for practices that close or when dentists are sick or on holiday.
With 18 locations across England and growing, The 247 Dentist also provides virtual triage and appointments via telephone.
Vital service
Trudy highlights the positive feedback they’ve received from both patients and dental practices using their services. ‘Patients love to use the service. Obviously, they can phone us at any point of the day.
‘And so it is very positive, because they can be seen out-of-hours. Also, obviously the dentists like it as well because we are offering that service for them out-of-hours.’
Looking to the future, The 247 Dentist is rapidly expanding, with plans to open 30 locations by the end of 2025.
Bernice says: ‘We are also looking to build relationships between our client practices and our host practices, and make those hundreds of client practices turn into thousands of client practices over the next few years.’
