As The Apprentice wins Best Reality Competition Show, we hear from this year’s final five participant Paul Midha about how it changed his life in dentistry.
The Apprentice, Race Across the World and Loose Women all picked up prizes at this year’s Reality TV Awards, which took place on 31 July at London’s Porchester Hall.
Dentist Dr Paul Midha made it to this year’s final five, impressing Lord Alan Sugar with his performance on a number of the show’s weekly tasks.
Speaking at the time, he said: ‘Life’s changed just a little bit. But I’ve got to say, I’m enjoying every single moment of it. It’s just so nice to share it with all my loved ones as well, and they’re really loving the process too. I feel like it’s all given us a big lift up.’
Picking up the award for Best Reality Competition Show, a number of cast members from this year’s series, including Paul, were present to accept the accolade.
The show’s Lord Sugar also walked away with Best Reality TV Judge.
New opportunities
Speaking to Dentistry.co.uk, Paul said that the show has ‘monumentally’ changed his life for the better.
‘To have been part of the show was a great privilege and representing the dental profession was not a responsibility I took lightly,’ he said.
‘Winning this award for best reality competition show was a testament to all of the candidates of my season. I went in with a mindset of you never need to dim anyone else’s light to make your own shine brighter. This is something I learnt from being a part of the dental community.
‘The show has monumentally changed my life for the better. It has allowed me to experience so many new opportunities and form new relationships. The Apprentice was just the beginning of my journey and I can’t wait to share the plans in place for the future
‘The VICI Dental group now consists of two private practices in Leeds. It has been supported well by the local communities that they reside in.’
