Calling all lab owners, dental technicians and CDTs: the entry deadline for the 2023 Dentistry Awards is fast approaching.

Returning for 2023, this year’s Dentistry Awards are taking place on Friday 17 November 2023 at The Athena in Leicester. Attendees can expect a glamorous night of celebration and a chance to connect with the UK dental sector’s best and brightest.

The Dentistry Awards is the largest dental awards ceremony in the UK, often dubbed ‘dentistry’s biggest party’. It has become very well-respected in the dental community, recognising excellence in dentistry across the whole of the UK.

This year, there are three different categories for the laboratory community: Laboratory of the Year, Dental Technician of the Year, and Clinical Dental Technician of the Year.

While the deadline for entering is fast approaching, there is still time! If you would like to be considered for an award, get your entries in by no later than 15 September 2023.

Previous winner of Laboratory of the Year, Jon Dolding, said: ‘The awards are really important to us as a team and as a business. As a team, it’s a huge boost to have all of our hard work recognised and celebrated. And as a business, it’s an important independent accolade.

‘The atmosphere in the lab the following day was amazing. It’s a great boost as we enter the busiest time of the year for us.’

Why enter?

Winning or being shortlisted for an award can be hugely beneficial for both individuals and laboratories. Clients will be more likely to choose an award-winning laboratory or technician, and it’s also much easier to attract staff when you have been officially recognised as an exceptional laboratory.

‘Bagging an award for your lab serves as a powerful PR tool and significantly boosts team morale,’ Matt Everatt, editor-in-chief of Laboratory, said. ‘Sharing the victory with your team generates excitement, making everyone feel integral to the achievement, fostering confidence and motivation.

‘As a lab owner, promoting your status as an “award-winning lab” to clients enhances credibility and elevates your reputation, distinguishing you from competitors in the dental laboratory arena.

‘Once you experience an awards ceremony, you will appreciate that there is an air of excitement and buzz in the room when the awards are being announced – its just fantastic. And having your team with you is such a wonderful team building experience.’
