Harry Singh considers non-surgical lip augmentation and looks at the reasons behind the rise in demand for this aesthetic treatment.
From ‘Hollywood Lips’ to ‘Essex Lips’, it seems that a commonly requested procedure, that has gained even more momentum with aesthetic patients in recent years, is non-surgical lip augmentation.
The number and proportion of patients requesting lip fillers has significantly increased based on my own personal experience, spread over twenty years.
Lip filler was in the Top 5 Cosmetic Minimally Invasive Procedures performed by members of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), as reported in their Complete Plastic Surgery Statistics Report 2020.
In the publication, Injectable profiloplasty: Forehead, nose, lips and chin filler treatment by Bertossi D, Lanaro L, Dell’Acqua I, et al [J Cosmet Dermatol. 2018], they concluded that the correction of the projection of the forehead, of the profile and shape of the nose, of the lips and chin, as well as an overall improvement in facial aesthetics and harmony gives a good solution in patients, avoiding the need for surgical intervention, scars, and cost of general anaesthesia, thus providing the optimum in patient satisfaction.
Therefore, aesthetic practitioners need to meet this demand and treat accordingly to give your patients the best outcome, whilst also growing your business.
