Philips has assembled a team of dental health educators – including dental hygienists, therapists or nurses with additional educator qualifications – to visit their peers in dental practices and teach them about the best ways to use Sonicare, Zoom Whitening and Power Flossing with their patients.
Their brief is not to sell, but to inform and coach.
There are a number of benefits of engaging with this personal education programme.
What does the education programme involve?
After education about the science behind Sonicare technology and clinical validation for the unique brushing system with its in-built digital monitoring, the practice team is offered an In-Mouth trial kit. This enables their patients to try the sonic brush. As well as learn how to use it under their guidance and then take home a free brush head.
Each session counts as verified CPD. The educator not only provides a reviving lunch, but at the end of the session will give a free Sonicare Diamondclean toothbrush.1 The brush is a modern design classic that combines clinically-proven efficacy with designer styling. Users can recharge the brush in a glass or via USB.
The practice also qualifies as part of the Philips Terracycle scheme. It rewards practices with funds for their selected charity as a thank you for participating in the recycling scheme; you can also recycle plastic oral heath discards (including manual toothbrushes, floss canisters, tooth brush heads and flosser nozzles).
