Dentapen – performing the right injection is the biggest hurdle towards a pain-free experience

Dentapen is an innovative new way from Septodont to provide a pain-free injection experience for your patients.

Anaesthesia is a first and essential step for most dental procedures. But dentists face a variety of issues when using a traditional syringe. Such as:

  • Adhering to the recommended injection time (1mm in one minute)
  • Variations in pressure, which can damage tissue and cause discomfort to the patient
  • Keeping the quality of injections consistent throughout the day.

With Dentapen, these challenges are greatly reduced.

Introducing Dentapen

Septodont’s Dentapen injection gives a constant flow, at the right pace. This then allows the dentist time to focus more on needle insertion, leading to better control of the injection and a reduction in pain for the patient.

During a study carried out on dentists who received a palatal injection, 96% preferred injections from an electronic syringe versus a manual syringe. And their pain perception reduced by a factor of two.

What makes the Dentapen different is that it is a self-contained, cordless, intuitive device. There is no console, no footpads and no tubing or proprietary disposables.

Clinicians can hold it in two different ways – by the wings, like a manual syringe, or pen-like, for a precise injection during special procedures.

Dentapen takes standard 2.2ml cartridges, which means that dentists can use the local anaesthetic of their choice and their favourite dental needle. We recommend Septoject Evolution needles with the scalpel blade.

Patients also find the small, modern look to be less threatening and more reassuring, helping them to relax.
