Data protection and confidentiality

Join Alison Large as she reviews data protection and confidentiality within dentistry during a free webinar at 19:00 on 5 October.

Alison Large will review the legal, ethical and contractual duty of confidentiality. As well as the key principles of data protection and how to understand appropriately managing requests for disclosure.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the session delegates should:

  • Get an understanding of your professional, contractual and legal responsibility to protect patient confidentiality
  • Have a general awareness of the general data protection regulations (GDPR) and principles of the UK Data Protection Act of 2018.

Alison Large

Alison Large graduated from Newcastle Dental School in 1999.

After qualification she worked in general practice for over 10 years, initially in the north east of England before relocating to Oxfordshire.

She gained an MFGDP(UK) diploma in 2007, has been a vocational trainer and has also provided mentoring. She joined the DDU in 2008 and currently combines her dentolegal adviser role with looking after her young family.
