Dental Excellence is the practice in this month’s Dentistry Cribs, Robbie Hughes takes us on a tour around around his surgery.
Based in the Matchworks in Liverpool, Robbie first established the impressive Dental Excellence in 2018. Since then it has become a popular practice for many celebrities due to its drive to exceed patient expectations.
Dental Excellence is a modern dental practice, built from the ground up with patients and courses in mind. It includes:
- Six surgeries
- On site laboratory
- Lecture theatre
- 45 members of staff
- Budget to develop the practice – £2million (approximately).
‘We purposely built this facility so it doesn’t feel like a normal clinical dental practice,’ Robbie says.
‘It’s more like a hotel. We have spaced out the seats in the waiting area. So no matter where you sit you should feel like you’ve got your own personal space. This will also help take away any pre-existing anxieties.
‘Everything should feel private, while you’re waiting for your dental appointment.’
Dental Excellence
As Robbie walks us around Dental Excellence, he shows us around the surgeries that are identical in size and interior.
Everything in the surgery is set up to help relax the patient and to ensure it doesn’t feel like a clinical environment. Patients can lie back and watch a movie on the ceiling-mounted TV screens, while dentists carry out treatments.
Robbie also walks us through the on-site digital dental laboratory.
‘Every new patient that enters our practice will have a full mouth X-ray as part of the pre assessment,’ Robbie continues.
‘We then take some video records to see exactly why you’re here and how we can help. As well as a full series of photography to help the dentist diagnose and plan your treatment.’
