Meet Lisa Wasden, new commercial lead for implants UK and Ireland, Dentsply Sirona

Lisa Wasden explains why she is so passionate about working for Dentsply Sirona and her future plans for the company.

From my very first contact with the company, I was impressed by the positive and open culture and the obvious engagement of our employees. The strength of the Dentsply Sirona brand is in its worldwide reputation for quality, impressive research and clinical history. I know that this combination creates the strongest possible foundation for the ambitious plans I have for Dentsply Sirona Implants UK and Ireland.

Better, safer, faster care for patients

Dentsply Sirona’s global vision is to enable dental professionals to provide better, safer and faster care for patients, and all of our divisions are fully committed to this aim. The foundation and driving force behind Dentsply Sirona Implants is the excellent quality of the products we offer. The Ankylos Implant System, Astra Tech Implant System and Xive, are highly regarded and endorsed by clinicians all over the world, and we are in a great position to build on this.

Our company-wide focus is to provide end-to-end solutions, and this resonates strongly in our implant offering, especially when integrated with our digital workflow. This is enabling clinicians and technicians using Atlantis and Cerec technologies to plan, design and place implants in a more accurate, faster and predictable way. Furthering this integration is a key part of my future strategy.

Improving our customers’ experience

We want to build a supportive relationship rather than one that is only transactional. We also want to look after customers by helping them choose the right products, providing excellent customer support and service, as well as recommending tools and strategies that will help them grow and develop their businesses.

Education and training are fundamental to this and we now have access to the state-of-the-art Dentsply Sirona Academy London, which showcases our equipment and its capabilities, as well as providing an inspirational setting for customers who visit us for meetings or training.

A holistic approach

We see it as an important part of our role to provide support for practices in the area of marketing and business know-how. Initiatives such as the Practice Development Programme are a key part of this, encouraging practice owners to look closely at their business performance. Our in-house experts provide information and tips on how to set up marketing plans and deliver staff training, all with the specific goal of increasing the number of enquiries for implant treatment.

There is a requirement from our customers to support them in growing their referral base, and to answer this we have developed the Refer and Restore programme. We run sessions in customers’ practices to which we invite local referring dentists. These meetings offer an opportunity to establish mutually-beneficial relationships in which implant practitioners can increase their referrals and referring dentists have a trustworthy implant clinician to refer to.

Peer-to-peer engagement

We also know it is vital to grow together with our customers and we are planning a number of implant customer meetings so that we can build a collaborative relationship and foster peer-to-peer engagement for the benefit of all. Building on the success of the World Summit Tour Nice event in 2017, we had the Ankylos Congress in Berlin on 29 and 30 June this year, which was attended by approximately 70 dentists from all over the UK and Ireland. I believe that by opening and maintaining a dialogue with customers we can understand their needs and take action to meet them.

Building positive professional relationships

My aim within the business is to work even more closely across all our product specialist divisions to provide a truly integrated service, and to make sure Dentsply Sirona is an open, friendly and enjoyable place, with a positive culture.

Externally, I am determined to foster strong and fruitful relationships with our customers and to provide truly excellent customer service. I want to encourage feedback and an open dialogue so that we can work alongside our customers to develop the products and services that will enable us all to meet the dental challenges of the future.
