Clinical strategies to preserve teeth in patients with periodontal disease

The Eastman Dental Institute is holding an evening lecture for those with an interest in periodontal therapy and the provision of dental implants in patients with advanced periodontal disease.

The lecture, which takes place on Thursday 15 June, aims to introduce clinical strategies to preserve teeth in patients with periodontal disease, and the issues relative to the provision of dental implants in patients with periodontitis.

It is perfect for general dental practitioners (GDPs) who have patients under their care who present with advanced periodontal disease or those keen to update their knowledge and understanding of the clinical management of patients with advanced periodontitis.

Periodontal therapy in the implant era

Presented by Professor Andrea Mombelli, ‘Periodontal therapy in the implant era’ will provide GDPs with further understanding on simple and efficient clinical strategies to preserve teeth in patients with advanced periodontal disease, an understanding of the challenges of providing dental implants for patients with a history of periodontitis and the knowledge to identify strategies to reduce the risk of complications of implant therapy in patients with periodontal disease.

Specifically, the lecture aims to provide attendees with:

  • Simple and efficient treatment strategies for the preservation of teeth in patients who are periodontally compromised.
  • The critical challenges when providing dental implants for patients with periodontitis.
  • The identification of strategies to reduce the complications and overcome the challenges of implant therapy in periodontitis patients.
  • Clinical strategies to ensure contemporary management of patients with periodontitis in the day-to-day practice.

By the end of the evening, attendees will be aware of the evidence for clinical strategies available to preserve teeth in patients with periodontal disease, as well as the challenges presented when providing implant therapy for patients who are periodontally compromised.

They will also feel confident on identifying the critical issues that may help overcoming the challenges when providing dental implants for patients with periodontal disease, and be able to incorporate the learned knowledge and skills in their treatment plan and clinical management in their daily practice.

Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the lecture as well as 2.5 hours of verifiable CPD.

The lecture takes place between 18:15 and 20:45 at the Eastman Dental Institute in London. For further information, visit here.
