3M has launched its new glass ionomer restorative material, Ketac Universal Aplicap, at The Dentistry Show.
The new restorative material offers linings for single and multiple-surface composite fillings, which is non-stick, easy to place and strong enough to use for long-term and stress-bearing indications.
‘The handling for Ketac Universal Aplicap is fantastic, it’s completely non-stick,’ Amy Driver, marketing executive at 3M, said at the launch.
‘It is durable and easy to place.
‘It also doesn’t require a glaze, patients can eat and drink 10 minutes after application.’
3M is offering delegates the opportunity to try the restorative material on its stand (H20) at The Dentistry Show today, and if you purchase six boxes of Ketac Universal Aplicap at the show, the team at 3M will include a free Rotomax machine (worth £600).
In a 3M application test, 94% of dentists claimed it enabled them to carry out easy one-step placement. Additionally, 84% agreed that the new design of the nozzle lead to better access to deep cavities. Around three quarters of dentists (75%) stated that the material’s low level of stickiness to instruments allowed for easy placement.
