Practice Plan has been using its social media platforms to really get behind the positive messages of this year’s Public Health England Stoptober campaign – all with the aim of helping dental practices support their patients in the fight to quit smoking.
All month, Practice Plan has been posting fun yet educational updates to its Facebook and Twitter pages, which dental practices can share to their own social media pages – showing their support for the national campaign.
Head of marketing, Gayle Collett said: ‘Due to the regularity of dental health appointments, compared to visits to the GP, dentists and hygienists are in a great position to help smokers in their quest to quit and we want to not only support dental teams in doing this but also those who have decided to take on the 28-day challenge.’
Everyday this month Practice Plan has been posting blogs, video diaries, visual tips and motivational advice to not only promote the oral and general health benefits of quitting, but also to provide inspiration and support to those taking part.
All of which has been designed so that the profession can easily share it with their patients.
Taking on the challenge
Injecting a bit of fun, and a human element to the campaign, Practice Plan’s branding and communications manager, Sian Grace, has taken on the Stoptober challenge herself with the support of senior graphic designer, Martin Cartwright, who kicked the habit earlier this year.
Sian has been sharing her experiences in her weekly video diaries and, together with Martin, has been the face of Practice Plan’s Stoptober campaign.
