Dr Asif Chatoo, a Wimpole Street orthodontic specialist, has been elected secretary of the General Council of the European Society of Lingual Orthodontics (ESLO).
Founded in 1992, the ESLO is the European society dedicated to lingual orthodontics with more than 200 members from around the world. It provides orthodontists with the opportunity to join together, share knowledge, learn about the latest techniques and get involved in an annual congress.
This year, the ESLO congress was held at Lake Como in Italy where Asif was a keynote speaker. Asif will be joining ESLO president, Vittorio Cacciafesta as well as many other top European orthodontists on ESLO’s council.
Dr Chatoo said of his new role: ‘I was genuinely surprised and delighted to have been elected as secretary and am really looking forward to working with colleagues to promote our specialty.’
Asif Chatoo is considered a leading figure in the field of lingual orthodontics and is the only UK orthodontist accredited by both the European and World Societies of Lingual Orthodontics. He founded the UK’s first dedicated lingual practice in 2005 where renowned orthodontist Didier Fillion works part-time.
