This is the first venture in Scotland for Genix Healthcare, which already operates 23 Clinics across England.
Genix has take over an existing practice on Earl Grey Street and plans to refurbish facilities to provide a stunning Hollywood ‘smile’ environment helping customers to feel more at ease when they visit.
With capacity to serve up to 16,000 patients, the clinic has four consulting rooms with four dentists and eight supporting staff.
As well as an NHS service, the clinic offers private treatment including tooth whitening and tooth coloured fillings. Genix has also extended opening hours with two late nights until 8pm and availability for Saturday bookings.
Sian Nelson-Jones, clinical director at Genix Healthcare said: ‘We are delighted to bring a refreshing new approach to dental care for the people of Edinburgh and currently have NHS places available for new registrations. We have developed an extremely successful formula throughout England and a strong brand that is associated with good care. With Edinburgh off the ground, we look forward to expanding further across Scotland in the next few years. We are currently seeking practices to acquire in the Fife region and would encourage any operators wanting to sell their practice to contact us.’
Supporting recruitment in the region, Genix has already employed two new team members at the Edinburgh practice and is also set to engage its unique Apprentice Programme that supports career progression in dentistry.
Sian added: ‘Last year we embarked on a major national apprenticeship initiative to help to address the growing number of young people seeking work and the perceived barriers to a career in the dental industry. We are very much committed to provide an exceptional standard of dental care but also support job creation in the Edinburgh region.’
