Dento-legal team strengthened by dentists

Leading dental negligence law firm, the Dental Law Partnership, (DLP), has strengthened its dento-legal team with the appointment of two new dento-legal advisors.

Kalpa Patel, from Shenfield, and Sheetal Kumar, from St Albans, who are based in DLP’s Elstree office, have joined the 40-strong firm and will provide advice in all clinical aspects relating to cases proceedings.

Their roles will involve assisting with a wide range of issues from advising, to supporting on claims and complaints.

Both women have previously worked as general dental practitioners – Sheetal for eight years and Kalpa for 2-0 – and each still practise two days a week.

Kalpa, who has also run her own dental practice for the past 16 years, says of her new position: ‘As a dentist, it has always been important to me to recognize good dental care provided by the dental profession. Although poor dental work isn’t the norm, working with the DLP allows me to ensure that when mistakes are made, our clients get the justice they deserve.’

Sheetal added: ‘The work we do ensures not only fairness for patients, but also for dentists who may have been wrongly accused. Working with the Dental Law Partnership allows me to further my interest into the dento-legal field, whilst working for a firm that looks to seek fair outcomes for its clients.’

Chris Dean, director at the Dental Law Partnership, said: ‘Kalpa and Sheetal bring a wealth of experience to their roles. They are very welcome additions to our team, and their knowledge of dental procedures will ensure that our clients get the best outcomes possible.’

The DLP has a total of 40 employees working from its offices in Nantwich in Cheshire and Elstree.
