Perfecting the Piezon technique
With the correct technique, Piezon technology can achieve effective and comfortable calculus removal avoiding over instrumentation and optimising treatment outcomes.
During this workshop Faye Donald will discuss the rationale behind Piezon and will help participants differentiate between correct and incorrect technique by demonstrating the importance of tip selection, angulation, adaptation and lateral pressure.

- Discuss tip selection and indications for different treatment stages including implant care
- Demonstrate correct tip placement and adaptation for supra and sub-gingival use

Speaker: Faye Donald
Faye is a practising dental hygienist. She graduated from Leeds in 2001 and went on to complete the National Certificate in counselling skills & behavioural therapy before undergoing further training in Switzerland where she became a certified Swiss Dental Academy Trainer. She now lectures both nationally and internationally and frequently writes for dental journals. Faye is chairperson for the North East BSDHT and is a key opinion leader for Oral B. She has twice been voted winner of ‘UK’s Best Hygienist’ and once voted winner of ‘UK’s Dental Hygienist of the Year’. Faye is a highly motivated hygienist who’s passion lays in patient centred, prevention led, minimally invasive treatment approaches and the role that empowering patients plays in contemporary supportive therapy.This Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activity fully complies with the CPD requirements of the General Dental Council. FMC certifies this activity for one hour of enhanced CPD in the subject of Perfecting the Piezon technique.
This CPD meets the criteria for the GDC’s development outcome C.
