Dentolegal update: working in a pandemic
There is no doubt that the coronavirus crises has caused us all a great deal of disruption to way we live and work.
As dental professionals we are reminded of the need to keep up to date with the latest governmental guidance and restrictions, stay on top of changing standard operating procedures and to ensure that we continue to consider the dentolegal and ethical obligations.
Objectives
Demonstrate the importance of clear communication in managing the expectations of patients
To appreciate the need to stay up to date with guidance
To discuss some of the common concerns raised by members about practising in the pandemic.

Speaker: Leo Briggs
Leo Briggs is deputy head of the DDU. He qualified from University College Hospital, London, in 1989. Leo has worked in the community dental service and in general dental practice. Leo gained a masters degree in periodontology from the Eastman in 1995 and is on the GDC specialist register. From 1995-2017 he provided specialist periodontal treatment in both the salaried dental services and private practice. In January 2016 he became deputy head of the DDU.
