Dentolegal update: working in a pandemic

There is no doubt that the coronavirus crises has caused us all a great deal of disruption to way we live and work.

As dental professionals we are reminded of the need to keep up to date with the latest governmental guidance and restrictions, stay on top of changing standard operating procedures and to ensure that we continue to consider the dentolegal and ethical obligations.

Objectives

  • Demonstrate the importance of clear communication in managing the expectations of patients
  • To appreciate the need to stay up to date with guidance
  • To discuss some of the common concerns raised by members about practising in the pandemic.

Learning outcomes

  • Understand the importance of managing the expectations of patients
  • Appreciate the requirements to stay up to date with guidance from responsible bodies of opinion.
