Minimally invasive dentistry: an approach to prevention and risk management of dental caries
An educational panel discussion on the concept of minimally invasive dentistry (MID) and key aspects and principles relating to caries risk factors and their relationship to MID approaches and caries management.
Learning outcomes:
- Be able to define the concept of “Minimally Invasive Dentistry (MID)”
- Understand the key aspects and principles of MID
- Understand the risk factors for dental caries and their relationship to caries management
- Gain awareness in minimally invasive approaches for the management of dental caries.
Speaker: Roshni Karia
Dr Roshni Karia is a General Dental Practitioner, as well as a part-time clinical tutor at the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral and Craniofacial Sciences, King’s College London.
She is also the former Vice Dean of the Faculty of General Dental Practice UK.

Dr Aylin Basin is a reader in Cariology, at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary University of London.
Speaker: Emanuele Cotroneo
Dr Emanuele Cotroneo is the UK Scientific Affairs Manager for Colgate.
Dr Emanuele Cotroneo holds a degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Rome (2005), and a PhD in Oral Biology (2009) from the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral and Craniofacial Sciences at King’s College London.
