This Legionella awareness webinar aims to equip dental health professionals with essential knowledge about Legionnaires’ disease and the practical steps required to control its risks within a dental practice.
This engaging and informative session is designed to help delegates understand the origins and health implications of Legionella bacteria, how it can proliferate in dental waterlines, and the regulatory responsibilities surrounding its prevention.
By the end of the webinar, participants will be confident in identifying potential risks, implementing effective control measures, and ensuring their practice remains compliant with current guidelines – ultimately safeguarding both patients and staff.

Speaker: Laura Edgar
Laura is an expert dental decontamination trainer and fully qualified teacher with a special interest in DUWL and biofilms. She is the Managing Director of Aura Infection control, the UK and Ireland’s leading provider of infection control services and products to the dental sector. Laura also holds a position at the Infection Prevention Society and is a highly experienced speaker on the dental conference circuit. Laura has developed her knowledge and experience of dental decontamination with a degree in decontamination of reusable invasive medical instruments from Anglia Ruskin University. In addition, she has worked in dental decontamination for over 10 years.This Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activity fully complies with the CPD requirements of the General Dental Council. FMC certifies this activity for one hour of enhanced CPD in the subject of Legionella awareness.
This CPD meets the criteria for the GDC’s development outcome C.
