Jim Sykes is the principal dentist and owner of Hexham Dental Clinic in Northumberland, where he leads a digitally focused private practice with an emphasis on clear aligner therapy, comprehensive restorative dentistry, and implant rehabilitation.
Jim graduated from Newcastle University in 1997 and has been providing orthodontic treatment since 2010, integrating aligner therapy into restorative workflows to support minimally invasive, patient-centred care. He became an Invisalign provider in 2016 and completed the Diploma in Clear Aligner Therapy in 2021.
He is a faculty member for Aligner Dental Academy and an international educator for Align Technology, where he teaches clinicians across the UK and internationally. His education focuses on practical implementation – helping clinicians integrate aligner therapy and restorative techniques predictably into everyday practice using efficient digital workflows.
Jim has a particular interest in finishing orthodontic cases with anterior composites, combining orthodontics, restorative dentistry, and digital planning tools to achieve predictable, aesthetic outcomes.
