Digital workflows – a paradigm shift in restorative dentistry
Intraoral scanners are much more than a way of taking impressions. They are the key to unlocking digital workflows.
In this presentation Eoin and Angelo will be presenting a complex restorative case from start to finish showing how digital workflows are used for both the clinical and laboratory stages. They will show how digital impressions using Exocad software are used to communicate between dentist and technicians as well as patients. The planning procedures, including occlusal analysis, smile design and digital wax ups, will be demonstrated. This will include methods of sharing diagnostic information and mock-ups between the lab and clinic, as well as tools for sharing this information with patients to facilitate gaining consent. The use of diagnostic provisionals and techniques to the transfer of occlusal schemes to the definitive restorations will be described and the manufacturing procedures for making provisional and definitive restorations will be shown.Learning outcomes

Speaker: Eoin O’Sullivan
Dr Eoin O’Sullivan is a General Dental Council registered Specialist in Prosthodontics. He graduated with honours from Trinity College Dublin and the Dublin Dental Hospital. After completing his Specialist Training at the Eastman Dental Institute in London he was invited to become a lecturer. For 15 years he was a Clinical Lecturer in the Prosthodontic Department. Eoin is a member of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In 2011 he was elected to become a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) . He is currently the Education Delegate of the UK and Ireland Section of the ITI and is also the Program Director of the ITI Foundation in Implant Dentistry Course. Eoin is a Partner at the Number 8 Partnership, a Specialist Referral Practice in London. He has a special interest in Digital Dentistry and has been using iTero scanners in his practice for over 10 years.Speaker: Angelo Zuccari Plini
Angelo Zuccari Plini has been a dental technician for over 22 years. Since moving to London in 2007 he has built up a reputation of excellence both for the quality of his work and for the service he provides through Estetica Dental Lab, one of the UK’s leading dental laboratories serving over 400 clinicians across Europe. Specialized in dental implants and aesthetic restorative full mouth prosthetic, Angelo has a wealth of knowledge, collected over international courses, and has personally completed over 700 full-arch immediately loaded implant cases as chair side/ immediate load technician with over 40 different clinicians across the continent.
