Alan created one of the leading and fastest growing environmental businesses in the UK. His vision was to deliver more sustainable business practices and create an ethos of collaboration, innovation, and change within a sustainable business community and its client base.
In his career, Alan has been Chair of Low Carbon South West CIC, which was instrumental in successfully collaborating with hundreds of organisations to both create thousands of jobs and secure millions of pounds of investment into the environmental sector. Alan also chaired the Avonmouth and Severnside Green Industries Forum, represented Bristol in Brussels for the European Green Capital, and served as an Ambassador for Bristol’s Green Investment Bank bid. He was also a member of the South of England Board for the Veolia Environmental Trust.
In 2011, Alan was awarded an Honorary MSc by the University of the West of England for his work in supporting the South West and UK low carbon economy.
