Hugo van Loenen is the CEO of MediMatch Dental Laboratory, a company that he founded around 2006. He holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Delft, The Netherlands. During his studies, he gained extensive experience managing large-scale projects within an entrepreneurial, family business-like environment. His exposure to the dental industry began while overseeing dental practices in the north of the UK. 

The idea for MediMatch Dental was born out of a clear need for high-quality yet competitively priced dental lab products in the UK market. Hugo and his team focused on standardizing in-lab procedures, optimizing workflows, and later integrating digital technology. This approach enabled MediMatch Dental to experience steady growth year over year, eventually securing private equity backing in January 2025.

Emily graduated from the University of Leeds in 2017 when she made her move into the private sector as a dental therapist, specialising in composite restorations and minimally invasive smile makeovers. She has been a clinical trainer and event coordinator with Avant Garde since 2021, which involves planning and coordinating each event alongside lecturing and demonstrating techniques for digital composite veneers. She has also demonstrated her knowledge at a variety of conferences across the country in partnership with FMC, BDIA, BACD & BDCDS. Neil is also Trustee, Sir Heinz Koeppler Trust – Wilton Park, promoting international peace and security; and, a member of the Advisory Board of the D Group, strategic advice and international network. He is a Trustee of the Sir Edward Heath Charitable Foundation.

Tripat graduated from King’s College London, completed dental foundation training and went on to carry out three years of dental core training. Tripat is now working as a specialty dentist in restorative dentistry and is a clinical tutor for the King’s College London students of dental therapy and hygiene.

Dr Tom Murphy’s implant practice is focussed on more complex aspects of dental implantology, such as guided bone regeneration/block grafting/periodontal soft tissue grafting/ sinus lifts (internal and external), aesthetic implant rehabilitation and full arch implant surgery. He has served as Chairman of the Met Branch of the BDA and has been International President of Alpha Omega, one of the oldest international dental organisations. Mervyn helped launch Independent Dentistry, which became the Private Practitioners Group of the BDA, and he serves on the editorial boards of Clinical Dentistry and Private Dentistry.

Nigel began his career in 1990 helping dentists escape what was then called the “New Contract” for NHS dentistry. He has since helped over 500 dentists directly and, through his teams—initially at Denplan and in the past two decades at Practice Plan—has assisted thousands more in achieving professional satisfaction and a better work-life balance.

Ewan Johnson has worked with dentists for nearly 20 years advising on insurance. At Densura, he provides indemnity to all UK-registered dentists.

Ewan manages the sales team at Densura, leading a group of six advisors located across the country. His team concentrates on delivering the best advice, support, and service to all of the dentists they work with.

When he is not busy with his professional responsibilities, Ewan enjoys traveling, walking, and cycling. Additionally, he spent 13 years as a football coach while running a grassroots football club.

Over the past 18 years, Philip has been passionately dedicated to building and growing Working Feedback—a platform designed to empower dental practices to thrive through word-of-mouth marketing and an enhanced patient journey.

His mission has always been to elevate feedback beyond mere reviews, transforming it into a comprehensive business development tool that ensures every piece of feedback contributes to meaningful growth.

A significant milestone in his journey was reached in December 2022 when Working Feedback was awarded “Overall Product/Service of the Year” at the Dental Industry Awards.

Hayley is a BA graduate specialising in Commercial Interiors from KLC School of Design with 10+ years of project management experience in construction. Skilled in spatial planning, materiality, and sustainability, her expertise is well-suited to meet the evolving demands of dental practice design, balancing functionality, and aesthetics. 

Olivia brings a wealth of experience in dental nursing, clinic management, treatment planning, and decontamination, complemented by her involvement in interior design project collaboration. Passionate about connecting with people, she is eager to engage with customers and build meaningful relationships within the dental community.

Adrian has spent over seven years helping UK dental practices, both big and small, tackle tough challenges. Known for turning complex ideas into simple, actionable insights, he has spent the last year meeting practice owners and teams in person to identify barriers to growth and efficiency—particularly in the management of telephone calls.

Dr Kiran Shankla is an award-winning, internationally published dentist. Kiran has completed a master’s in Restorative Dentistry from UCL Eastman and has undertaken numerous postgraduate training courses. She has received several dental awards and was named Best Young Dentist in 2022 at the Dentistry Awards.

Her most recent achievement has been attaining a fellowship from the International Academy for Dental Facial Aesthetic in New York. Kiran is a Key Opinion Leader for DMG and SDI. She has had her case studies published regionally and has lectured internationally on the treatment of white spot lesions. Kiran is on the committee for BDA Reading and currently works at Kendrick View Dental Practice, Reading.

With over 30 years in the dental industry, Leonora specialises in cutting-edge technologies such as SprintRay 3d printing. She works closely with practices, to provide tailored digital workflow solutions and offers training and support, to ensure you have the skills and knowledge required. 

Faye Donald is a multi-award-winning and highly experienced dental hygienist with a special interest in patient-centred dentistry and minimally invasive approaches.

Faye holds the National Diploma in Dental Hygiene as well as the National Certificate in Counselling Skills & Behavioural Therapy and has practiced in both general and specialist referral practices in the North of England for over 20 years. She is a mentor, a certified Swiss Dental Academy Trainer for EMS, a Guided Biofilm Therapy® ambassador, a former chairperson for the North East region of BSDHT, a key opinion leader for OralB, and the co-founder of the nationwide study club “The Contemporary Hygienist.”

She speaks both nationally and internationally on the roll of the dental hygienist in modern, contemporary practice. She is also known for her involvement in various projects aiming to shine a light on metal health within our industry.
