Richard Kahan

Richard Kahan BDS MSc LDS RCS is a specialist in endodontics, and clinical director of the Harley Street Academy of Advanced Endodontics. He qualified in 1984 from the Royal London Hospital. He gained an endodontic specialist masters degree in 1993 with distinction. He has been a senior clinical part-time lecturer in endodontology at the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute, University College London, teaching on the MSc and MClinDent endodontic courses from 1994 through to 2011. He became director of endodontic courses within the Eastman CPD unit from 2003 until 2011, where he established the very successful certificate and diploma in endodontics, a part-time course for general practitioners wanting to specialise and improve their standard of root canal treatment. The course is being run now by two of his students that originally took the course! He established the Academy of Advanced Endodontics during 2014 within 99 Harley Street, to teach general practitioners, training specialists and registered endodontic specialists within a working practice environment, demonstrating real world endodontics. He has lectured nationally and internationally and has written research papers for refereed journals, as well as being an academic referee for the British Dental Journal and the International Endodontic Journal.
