Falk Schwendicke

Professor Dr Falk Schwendicke is director of the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Periodontology at LMU University Hospital Munich and one of the world's most influential researchers in dentistry.

Recognised with the prestigious IADR Distinguished Scientist Award, his research has contributed to a paradigm shift in caries management, helping establish minimally invasive treatment approaches that are now widely adopted in clinical practice.

With more than 500 peer-reviewed publications and 30 book chapters, he is consistently ranked among the world's most cited dental researchers. Professor Schwendicke also serves on leading international committees, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), shaping the future of evidence-based and AI-enabled dentistry.
