Stop flying blind: lessons from six months of Dentalmonitoring in NHS orthodontics

This webinar will explore how NHS orthodontic teams used Dentalmonitoring over six months to improve clinical oversight, reduce unseen risk between visits, and reflect on what this meant for standard of care within NHS constraints.

Learning outcomes

  • Understand how visibility between appointments influences standard of care in NHS orthodontics
  • Identify what changed in clinical oversight after six months of Dentalmonitoring use
  • Recognise where traditional review models create unseen clinical risk
  • Assess how monitoring can support safer delegation within NHS teams
  • Reflect on whether current systems allow early detection of treatment issues.

Speaker: Maria McNally

Maria McNally qualified in London in 1995 and completed her specialist and consultant orthodontic training in Birmingham in 2007. She subsequently moved to the north west and now works in specialist and interdisciplinary practices across Rochdale and south Manchester, alongside one day per week as a locum hospital consultant in Blackpool.

She is a partner in a specialist orthodontic practice providing both NHS and private orthodontic care, supported by a team of three orthodontic therapists. Dr McNally is an Invisalign mentor and has received numerous accolades at the Aesthetic Dentistry Awards. In 2023, she was awarded Most Transformational Teen Case at the Invisalign Summit.

Dr McNally has been using Dentalmonitoring for over five years on private aligner cases and, six months ago, expanded its use to include nearly all NHS and private fixed cases.
