Think your Invisalign case deserves the spotlight? Aligner Dental Academy’s case of the month is your chance to share it with the profession.
Forget the X Factor – this is the ADA Factor.
Every month, Aligner Dental Academy (ADA) celebrates the clinical artistry and dedication that goes into transforming smiles. Those before-and-after images don’t just show teeth; they capture the pride we all feel in creating life-changing results for our patients.
ADA believes these successes deserve recognition. That’s why the academy is inviting you to step forward, showcase your best work, and be recognised by your peers.
What’s in it for you?
Each month, practitioners are encouraged to submit their most impressive Invisalign cases via the official case of the month entry form. The top three submissions will be shortlisted by ADA’s clinical team, with the winner selected through community voting.
Winning goes beyond prestige, it comes with tangible rewards:
- A trophy to display proudly in your clinic
- A place in the case of the year finals at ADA’s annual symposium
- A feature on ADA’s wall of fame
- A certificate of achievement for your practice
- The chance to be crowned case of the year champion, earning a one-year ADA membership and a one-year gym membership.
Learning through peer-to-peer support
Peer-to-peer learning is central to ADA’s mission. The case of the month competition not only celebrates excellence but also provides a unique opportunity for clinicians to learn from one another. Showcasing diverse cases allows practitioners to share insights into treatment planning, aligner mechanics, and innovative problem-solving, ultimately strengthening collective knowledge across the field.
How to enter
Submitting your case is simple:
- Complete the form
- Upload before and after images, along with any additional visuals that highlight the transformation
- Provide essential details about your case, including whether you are an Invisalign Go or Invisalign Full provider
- Submit your entry before the monthly deadline.
Winners will be announced each month and recognised across the ADA community.
Why you should enter
Whether you are a seasoned Invisalign provider or just beginning your journey, this competition offers an excellent opportunity to:
- Gain exposure for your work
- Build credibility with patients and peers
- Contribute to the growing pool of clinical knowledge within the aligner field
So, if you have a case you are proud of, now is the time to share it.
Case highlight: an ortho-restorative approach
Courtesy of Dr Raman Aulakh

The case illustrated above demonstrates how orthodontics and restorative dentistry can work hand in hand to create superior clinical outcomes.
From alignment to enhancement
The first image shows the patient before treatment. Orthodontic alignment was used to partially close spaces and improve tooth positioning. The remaining space was then managed through restorative techniques, including composite bonding, to complete the smile. This combined approach enhanced alignment, aesthetics, and function while maintaining a minimally invasive philosophy.
Smile Architect: facially-driven planning
Invisalign ClinCheck software now features the Smile Architect tool, which introduces facially-driven treatment planning. This allows clinicians to visualise the digital treatment plan and its outcome in relation to the patient’s face, supporting both orthodontic and restorative workflows.
Two planning options are available:
- Ortho-only plans: focus on achieving ideal orthodontic alignment, restorative modifications are disabled, and the approach is not facially-driven
- Ortho-restorative plans: facially-driven, designed to move teeth into an optimum position for subsequent minimally invasive restorations, maximising aesthetics while conserving natural tooth structure.
Minimally invasive smile transformation
This case highlights the benefits of positioning teeth ideally through orthodontics before carrying out restorative procedures. By doing so, restorations such as composite bonding can be completed with minimal intervention, enhancing integration, longevity, and overall aesthetics.
Orthodontic-restorative synergy is transforming modern smile design. With tools like Smile Architect, clinicians can plan with precision, collaborate across disciplines, and deliver smiles that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functionally sound.
