In this exclusive live session, Maria Fernandez-Canedo Pintor, one of the UK’s leading dental experts, explored the Straumann ClearCorrect aligner system, showcasing its ease of use. She explained how integrating the system into general dental practice benefits both clinicians and patients.
By the end of the session, participants gained a clearer understanding of the Straumann ClearCorrect system, its user-friendly features and how it can be effectively applied to multidisciplinary cases. The session highlighted the simplicity of the system, its advantages for practitioners and its ability to enhance patient care.
Maria took the attendees through all stages of the patient journey. This way, she demonstrated how to incorporate the aligner system into patient conversations.
- Initial consultation, discussing the patient’s main concerns and expectations. Records were taken (pictures, digital scans and necessary X-rays). Consent was also given to discuss the case with peers in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Treatment planning separate from the patient. This includes assessing records and discussing the case with colleagues either face to face or using SmileCloud
- Options meeting with the patient, in which treatment options and consent are discussed, and ending with patient acceptance
- The ClearCorrect fit.

When asked what she is most excited to see at future Dentistry Live events, she said: ‘I’d be really interested in seeing multidisciplinary cases involving orthodontics, dental implants and restorative treatments, including before and after images and detailed explanations of the planning stages for each element of the case.’
