The power of digital dentistry with the Invisalign system

The power of digital dentistry with the Invisalign system

Align Technology shares the testimonial of Dr Graham Tinkler, who has treated more than 5,000 patients with Invisalign.

The Invisalign System is an advanced clear aligner system which has been used to treat more than 17.6 million patients. One of the benefits of treating so many people is that Align Technology can draw on a powerful level of data from the multi-million cases submitted and this is helping both the company and doctors to plan even more predictable treatment outcomes.

The company also analyses the data to uncover insights which allows it to continually innovate and expand the Align Digital Platform. This combination of software, systems and services is designed to provide a seamless experience and end-to-end workflow that integrates and connects doctors and their teams, labs, patients, and consumers.

A leading UK Invisalign provider, Dr Graham Tinkler from London has treated more than 5,000 lifetime patients. He credits the Invisalign system for changing the course of his career – as well as transforming the lives of his patients.

Perpetual innovation

According to Dr Tinkler, the Invisalign system has transformed the profession, and its perpetual innovation is what sets it apart. He commented: ‘The evolving innovation and technology gives the Invisalign system the edge. Aligner therapy is the biggest disrupter in the last 20 years of dentistry, along with digitalisation, digital cameras, computers, and smile design. Dentistry is the better because of them.’

‘The Invisalign system has advanced considerably since I first started treating with it in 2006. I have now treated thousands of patients with it, and it is a much more predicable treatment. The evolution in the system means that the ClinCheck software does all the treatment planning and is the biggest game changer. Now you are your own technician as well as the dentist. The effects of digitisation have been profound.

‘The iTero digital scanner is another turning point for dentistry.  I really appreciate that I can now plan my cases in my own time and can be away from the practice two days a week. This has profoundly affected my work/life balance. Clinical dentistry takes its toll and by allocating time to plan I have improved my quality of life.’

Invisalign SmartTrack

Another big change has been in the aligner SmartTrack material which has evolved significantly. The predictability of the treatment from start to end is very impressive, and 80% of our cases finish without any without any additional aligners, without any refinements.

‘Aligner therapy and digital technology have changed dentistry phenomenally. The Invisalign system is the only known global dental consumer brand that people ask for by name. They’re not asking you, “Can I have a consultation for teeth straightening?” They specifically name check the Invisalign brand. There’s a massive amount of work and investment from Align Technology to drive that consumer demand and brand awareness.’

Evren Köksal, general manager for the UK and Ireland, concluded: ‘Treating over 17 million plus patients is an important landmark for Align Technology and indicative of the pace of growth and adoption that we are experiencing. I would like thank Dr Tinkler and our Invisalign trained doctors all put the Invisalign system at the heart of their practices, and contributed to this significant milestone for Align.

‘We are very grateful to these doctor partners for their unequivocal confidence in the Invisalign system and the many other ways they contribute to the company.’
