In his upcoming webinar Dr Monik Vasant, who has a special interest in restorative and aesthetic dentistry, explains why his clinic has installed five iTero Element intraoral scanners and how these have helped to transform every patient experience.
He will explain that the intraoral scanner offers greater efficiencies in a number of ways:
- Every patient is scanned to improve diagnosis and treatment planning, and enable better communication
- iTero scanners ‘wow’ patients, improve the treatment experience create goodwill and differentiate the practice
- Allows patients to visualise their mouths ‘on a deeper level’
- No more traditional impressions
- Allows better treatment preparations to ensure they are ‘are clean, have adequate space, and the occlusal clearance is correct’
- Reduces communications between the clinic and laboratory.
‘Fundamental’
Dr Vasant and his team use the iTero scanners’ features, including the Invisalign Outcome Simulator, which enables clinicians to show patients how their teeth will look following orthodontic treatment; and Time Lapse Technology, which enables them to gauge tooth wear and position during a specific period.
He says: ‘We’ve become so reliant on the advantages of our iTero scanners that to work without them, I wouldn’t feel like I was providing the same level of service to both my patients and my delegates.’
Dr Vasant also runs The Fresh Dental Institute postgraduate training centre, which organises both short courses and a year-long post-graduate diploma in restorative and aesthetic dentistry.
He explains how the iTero scanner is used as ‘a fundamental part of the teaching’ because of the amount of Invisalign treatments they perform. The scanner also enables the training centre to better assess course participants’ work and provide ‘real time, high-level feedback’.
