What’s on at the Oscare Restorative Theatre?

Marian Fanica – Top tips for caries prevention and detection

Marian qualified as a dentist from University Carol Davila, Bucharest, Romania in 2005. He then completed a master’s degree in endodontics at the same university.

His first of two lectures will discuss using fluoride varnish as the safest method for caries prevention and indication of fluoride varnish in all ages and as a desensitizing agent.

He will also discuss long-lasting pit and fissure sealing using hydrophilic materials, caries detector in a new light, and an irreplaceable and easy method of diagnostic.

Faye Donald – Top tips to maximise financial reward from every hygiene appointment

Faye is a multi-award winning and highly experienced dental hygienist with a special interest in patient-centred dentistry and contemporary approaches to dental hygiene.

Her passion for the industry is what has seen her voted UK’s Best Hygienist an unprecedented four times as well as Dental Hygienist of the Year at the Private Dentistry Awards.

Currently, Faye works in specialist referral practice in the north of England, where she is actively involved in the management of periodontal, implant and orthodontic patients.

The key learning aims of her lecture are:

  • Understand the role of Guided Biofilm Therapy in modern contemporary hygiene clinics
  • Understand the concept of short-term whitening and where it fits in
  • Know how to utilise biomin toothpaste to add to the patient experience.

Tony Kilcoyne – Do you see what I see? Amazingly easy cosmetic composites

Tony runs his own dental referral practice in Haworth, West Yorkshire. He has served on the GDC and the BDA boards and he is a training programme director for foundation training.

Tony was also an Olympic dentist, treating athletes at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

He lectures widely about clinical practice management and the psychology of patient care, and places an emphasis on delivering efficient and effective patient-centred care in our highly demanding UK arena.

Tony will explore the latest science and techniques. He will also discuss how you can be improving your professional and patient satisfaction using well sealed and bonded, optically pleasing composite restorations, literally from Monday morning in your clinic.

He said of his lecture, ‘If you want to save time, money and heartache delivering happy patients more easily, then this is the talk for you – whatever stage you are at in your dental career’.

Ross Walker – A new approach to oral hygiene which affects patient outcomes

One of the founders of Clinical Health Technologies, Ross is the driving force behind the Clinisept+ range of products, the pioneering cleansing technology that’s re-writing the rule books in dental, aesthetics and podiatry sectors.

Ross is passionate about healthcare innovation and the opportunity to improve patient outcomes.

‘While the traditional mouthwash chemistries that we have trusted for years are good, they do come with some drawbacks’, Ross said.

‘In this talk, we will look at the difference in the mechanism of actions of mouthwash chemistries and explore how a new, high-purity hypochlorous solution, Clinisept+ Dental Mouthwash, is setting completely new standards of oral hygiene and improving patient outcomes.’

Tony Gavin – Proud to be independent: Oscare lets you stay that way!

Tony founded and runs a private healthcare practice and membership organisations to assist independent practitioners in the running of their businesses.

His lecture will question how we can leverage the advantages of being independent without suffering the downsides.

He will discuss the advantages of using technology to assist with workflows, automations and being able focus on care and service in your business.

In addition, he hopes attendees of his lecture will understand when to consider using workflows and how to implement workflows effectively for a robust business.

Marian Fanica – Top tips for enhanced impression taking and cementation procedures

Using clinical cases, Marian’s second lecture will discuss conservation of biologic space and the advantages, limitations and risks of the retraction cord.

He hopes attendees take away from his lecture:

  • An understanding of retraction pastes as an alternative to the retraction cord
  • How to manage the bleeding before impression and cementation
  • Tips and tricks for improving the efficiency and predictability of retraction and hemostasis.
