Mydentist appoint new chief executive

Mydentist has appointed its new chief executive who will take over the role from Tom Riall in April this year.

After nearly six years as chief executive, Tom Riall will take on the new role of executive chairman for Mydentist from 1 April 2023. He will lead the company’s overall strategy and chair the Mydentist board.

The current board chairman, Kevin Beeston, will become an independent non-executive director.

Nilesh Pandya, the current deputy chief executive and former chief financial officer, has been appointed as chief executive to take overall responsibility for the day-to-day operational performance of the business. He will also oversee the Mydentist three-year plan.

The three-year plan will see the company continue to expand and consolidate its position as the leading provider of dentistry in the country.

New role

Outgoing chief executive, Tom Riall, said: ‘After nearly six years at the helm of this fantastic business, I am delighted to be taking on the new role of executive chairman and handing over the reins to Nilesh Pandya, who I look forward to continuing to working with as we deliver on our three-year plan.

‘During my time as chief executive, I have been fortunate to work with an outstanding team across Mydentist and it is a result of their constant hard work that the business is in such a strong position today.

‘We have built the leading network of dental practices anywhere in the country, our private revenues are growing faster than ever before, and a record number of clinicians are choosing to join our practices and build their careers with us.

‘None of this would have been possible without the extraordinary support of the Mydentist leadership team, our practice managers, our support centre colleagues, and every single member of our practice teams: I would like to thank each of them for their ongoing dedication.

‘We have achieved an enormous amount in the last six years and our three-year plan is designed to build on that success, ensuring we continue to make Mydentist the best place for clinicians to practise in UK dentistry so that more patients than ever can get access to the high-quality affordable care they need.

‘With Nilesh in the role of chief executive, and supported by our proven management team, I am certain that we will succeed in this aim, continuing to provide unrivalled support to our colleagues, clinicians and patients, and transforming how dentistry is delivered in the UK.’

Fantastic team

Incoming chief executive, Nilesh Pandya, said: ‘I am delighted to be taking on the role of chief executive at Mydentist. I have had the privilege of working there for the last three and a half years.

‘This is an outstanding business with a fantastic team in place at every level of the organisation and a proven track record over the last six years.

‘Our strategy is designed to build on this past success, continually improving the quality of care we deliver, making Mydentist the best place to work in UK dentistry, investing in our systems and practices, growing private dentistry and ensuring we maximise productivity for our clinicians.

‘All so that we can achieve one clear objective: to provide more patients than ever with access to high-quality, affordable oral healthcare.

‘I look forward to continuing to work with our existing management team, and our new executive chairman, as we deliver on this important plan and take advantage of the many opportunities that lie ahead.’
