North of England Dentistry Show – what’s on at the Facial Aesthetics Theatre?

The North of England Dentistry Show will host 12 different theatres with more than 85 speakers. Here we take a deep dive into the Facial Aesthetics Theatre – powered by Relife.

The North of England Dentistry Show is back and better than ever.

Taking place at the Manchester Central Convention Complex on 11 March 2023, it’s expected to have the highest attendance so far.

This show will host 12 different lecture theatres – more than we’ve ever had before. Each theatre will host a variety of carefully-selected topics and speakers, and CPD will be available for every single lecture. There’s hours of CPD on offer!

The Facial Aesthetics Theatre, powered by Relife, brings a greater focus on cosmetic dentistry and aesthetic treatments with talks to improve your in-practice offerings.

This theatre will bring the biggest names in cosmetic and aesthetic dentistry to deliver lectures that will inspire the entire dental team.

Arreni Somasegaran – Orthognathic camouflage: using dermal fillers to mask the signs of skeletal deficiencies – sponsored by Define Clinic

Dr Arreni Somasegaran graduated from the University of Birmingham as a dental surgeon in 2015. Since then, she has followed her true passion in advanced non-surgical aesthetic treatments.

In addition, she specialises in a ‘whole face approach’ and is focused on helping her patients obtain a balanced and refreshed look.

Of her lecture, Arreni said: ‘Orthognathic surgery is the traditional corrective treatment for skeletal discrepancies, however the prospect of surgery for many patients can feel overwhelming and ominous.’

Her lecture will explore how, through the use of dermal fillers, clinicians are able to achieve a similar or, in some cases, better aesthetic outcomes, without the need for patients to go under the knife.

Ian Hallam MBE –The full face of dentistry: facial aesthetics in general practice – sponsored by Meon Dental + Meon Face

Dr Ian Hallam MBE qualified in dentistry in 1971 and is the principal of Meon Dental and Meon Face Aesthetic clinic in Hampshire. He divides his time between cosmetic and implant dentistry and facial aesthetics.

He is also an accredited UK trainer for Silhouette Soft and a key opinion leader for Venus Concept and Med Aesthetics. In addition, he has been a visiting clinical teacher in facial aesthetics for the MSc course in aesthetics at Kings College London.

Ian said: ‘Delegates will gain an insight into facial aesthetics and understand why patients will put their trust in their dentist for these treatments.

‘The lecture will also explore how facial aesthetics in general practice can be a benefit for their patients, their practices and can be a satisfying and rewarding part of their working lives.’

MJ Rowland-Warmann – The complications that scare the pros  – sponsored by Smileworks Hub

Dr MJ Rowland-Warmann is the founder and lead clinician at Smileworks Liverpool, a state-of-the-art dental and aesthetic clinic.

She holds an MSc in aesthetic medicine and also has a special interest in the management of dermal filler complications using ultrasound.

In this lecture, MJ will discuss the complications that scare even seasoned practitioners. She will discuss what to do if you encounter issues like nodules, infection, occlusions, and the most feared of all complications: vision loss.   

Sharing cases, she will also show you how to recognise the most common complications and deal with them before they turn into real problems. This will allow you to be more confident when treating your aesthetic patients.

Roy Cowley – How to successfully introduce aesthetic devices into your practice: everything you need to know – sponsored by 3D Aesthetics

Roy Cowley is the founder and managing director of 3D Aesthetics. He is a well-known and respected figure in the industry as a pioneer in non-surgical technology.

The key objectives of his lecture are:

  • What to look for in your technology supplier.

Yousrah Ahmed – How to incorporate facial aesthetic treatment into your dental practice – sponsored by Menarini

Dr Yousrah is a UK leading practitioner and clinical trainer in the medical aesthetic field.

She is a fully qualified and highly experienced dental and aesthetic practitioner who is dedicated to delivering outstanding treatment results to her patients in a safe clinical environment.

She initially qualified from the University of Manchester as a dental therapist in 2006. After a year in practice, she was keen to further enhance her training and skills and went on to study as a dentist.

As a medical aesthetic practitioner, Dr Yousrah believes in using only the highest of quality materials and products which are evidence based. This ensures the best, safest and natural results for her patients.

She also believes in sharing her knowledge and experience with her trainees to promote a safe holistic approach to treating patients.

Zainab Al-Mukhtar – Oro-facial aesthetics & combination treatments: aesthetic dentistry and soft tissue injectables

Dr Zainab Al-Mukhtar qualified as a dentist in 2010 from Kings College London with distinction.

She was awarded membership of the faculty of dental surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and membership of the joint dental faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2013.

In addition, she co-owns award winning clinic Harrow On The Hill Dental & Facial Aesthetics in north London.

By the end of her talk, delegates will have an understanding of:
