The periodontal and implant therapy masterclass for dental hygienists and therapists is back for 2023!

The new year has begun and we are gearing up again for the Edudent periodontal and implant masterclass.

The two-day (14 hours CPD) event is aimed at dental hygienists and dental therapists and designed to provide clinicians with the knowledge and skills to approach these often difficult clinical scenarios.

Peri-implant diseases are an emerging issue seen more and more in general practice. The majority of patients will often see hygienists and hygiene therapists as their first port of call before seeking specialist treatment.

The masterclass, and the Edudent Group, was created by a group of specialist periodontists. This includes Dr Hiten Halai, Dr Azim Malik and Dr Pano Kaimakamis, who identified a gap in experience and knowledge of management of these conditions.

The Masterclass is very relaxed in a great central London venue and combines a mix of lectures and practical hands on components.

Theory, case-based scenarios, run throughs and hand and ultrasonic instrumentation are covered, as well as insight into the emerging concept of minimally invasive non-surgical therapy (MINST).

What makes the Edudent masterclass unique?

The masterclass is taught over two days on a Friday to Saturday by at least two specialist periodontists who are at hand to answer any queries or questions you may have.

It’s often difficult to catch a specialist in practice to discuss cases. Over the duration of the masterclass you will have ample time in a very relaxed environment.

A bespoke handbook is provided, which previous delegates have found very helpful as a reference guide.

What have previous delegates had to say:

  • ‘It’s been unique because I’ve learnt a variety of things over the last two days. I’ve been around colleagues of different age groups and backgrounds. The questions and scenarios we’ve gone through together has been a really constructive experience’
  • ‘The layout of the course has been really good, especially with regards to the balance between the lectures and the practical aspects’
  • ‘It has made me feel more confident when coming across certain cases and knowing what is within my scope as a dental therapist’.

Besides the upcoming masterclass, Hiten, Azim and Pano run a range of other masterclasses. These are primarily aimed and general practitioners, covering topics from aesthetic and functional crown lengthening to implant soft tissue management, with guest speakers.

All their courses are currently running early bird rates. So book now to avoid disappointment!
