How do you see the future of dentistry? Share your thoughts and win £250 Amazon vouchers
How do you see the future of dentistry? That’s the question a new survey seeks to answer.
The survey is being conducted by independent research firm, Savanta. Sponsored by Practice Plan, it comes as part of a thought leadership initiative on the future of the profession. Dentists will be asked to share their views on issues such as the challenges and opportunities facing the profession.
This includes how dentistry might look in five years’ time, the future of practice ownership and the usefulness of products and services that exist to support dentists and dental practices.
As well as the opportunity to share their views, anyone completing the survey will be entered into a draw to win £250 worth of Amazon vouchers. In addition, Practice Plan will donate £10 to the BDA Benevolent Fund for every person who completes the survey (up to a total of £2,000).
In this video, dental business coach, Chris Barrow paints a mixed picture of how he sees the future of dentistry. He feels confident that, with the number of people committed to maintaining their oral health, and the increasing interest in cosmetic treatments, there will be sufficient demand to sustain dentistry as a profession and is optimistic about its future.
However, he foresees a very different landscape for NHS treatment. He predicts the vast majority of NHS dental treatments will be delivered by corporates. This is due to the constraints and complexities the NHS contract places on small, independent practice owners.
For this reason, he foresees a massive exodus of small practice owners from the NHS and into private practice. However, on a more optimistic note, he believes that well-run, independent private practices have a great future ahead.
Survey closes 23:59 on 10 June 2022.
