next step wesleyan webinarWesleyan is offering dental students extra help with the transition into the workplace this Autumn through a special webinar.

The ‘Next Step’ virtual event, hosted by Capital Xtra presenter, Remel London on 18 November is a chance for young dentists to hear from an expert panel on key issues.

These include kickstarting your foundation year, building professional networks and also balancing health and wellbeing.

The panel includes:

  • Natalie Bradley – special care dentistry registrar and ambassador for the Royal College of Surgeons
  • David Olubunmi – dental associate in Kent
  • Bethany Rushworth – dental associate in Leeds.

All of whom will take questions from attendees as well as sharing their tips on starting a career in dentistry.

Taking the Next Step

Sophie Rushton at Wesleyan financial services says: ‘Dental students tell us that they come up against a raft of challenges when they start their career. Such as moving away from home, finding money for fees and balancing relationships with friends, family and colleagues.

‘We’re here to help. That’s why we’ve set up the Next Step to help make the transition into the workplace a little easier.

‘This year will look a lot different for students. Especially those going into practices that have adapted with new COVID-19 measures.

‘No matter what the challenge, we’re on hand to support the next generation of dental students as they get their careers up and running.’

Dr Natalie Bradley, special care dentistry registrar and ambassador for the Royal College of Surgeons, says: ‘Starting any career is nerve wracking. Young dentists entering the profession this year will find themselves in a particularly unusual situation.

‘That’s why it’s great that this year’s Next Step event has gone virtual. We’re able to speak to students about their wellbeing, life after dental school and everything that comes with their first job.’
